He is a Ukrainian military commander and intelligence officer, has the rank of lieutenant general. From 2016 to 2019, he worked as a Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine.

 

At the beginning of his career, Valery Kondratiuk was engaged in diplomatic activities. Since 1999, he was a Senior Assistant Attaché for the Defense Issues at the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA, and 5 years later, in the rank of colonel, he managed the Ukrainian Security Service.

 

In 2014-2016, he headed the counter-intelligence department of the Security Service of Ukraine, and in mid-2016, he was appointed as the head of the the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense. Former Head of Ukraine’s Military and Foreign Intelligence Service from 2020 to 2021.
