The Safe Ukraine 2030 Foundation, together with its partners, announces the launch of the sixth annual survey, “Assessment of Business Security in Ukraine” - an analytical initiative designed to examine emerging security challenges, assess the resilience of Ukrainian companies, and identify new approaches to safeguarding businesses amid the ongoing war.

The survey is initiated by the law firm Sayenko Kharenko, in partnership with SK Security, Safe Ukraine 2030, the Association of Corporate Security Professionals of Ukraine, the Public Union “Diia City. Residents’ Association”, the Corporate Governance Professional Association, and FRU Defence. Information support is provided by the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, ASIS International – Ukraine Chapter, CEO Club Ukraine, CFO Club Ukraine, and the Board business community.

Why Does This Study Matter?

Amid Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, business security can no longer be regarded as a purely internal corporate concern. It has a direct bearing on the country’s economic resilience, the protection of investments and jobs, the recovery of local communities, and public trust in state institutions.

The findings of the previous study highlighted the scale of the challenges facing Ukrainian businesses:

  • 72% of Ukrainian companies have increased their security expenditures since the beginning of the full-scale war;

  • 82% of Ukrainian businesses reported receiving no state support in ensuring their security;

  • The most significant threats identified were mobilisation-related challenges (80%), the loss of skilled professionals (72%), and corruption (48%).

These findings underscore the need not only to strengthen corporate security systems but also to foster a structured and sustained dialogue on how responsibility for security should be shared among the state, businesses, and civil society.

New Priorities for the 2026 Study

This year's study goes beyond a conventional assessment of threats to explore issues that will shape the future resilience of Ukrainian businesses:

  • Businesses’ readiness to share experience, exchange best practices, and adopt effective security solutions;

  • Assessment of current threats, including cyberattacks, information attacks, corporate fraud, and undue pressure on businesses;

  • The growing need for new tools, expertise, and knowledge;

  • Adoption of EU standards to ensure alignment with European requirements for security, resilience, and regulatory compliance.

Safe Ukraine 2030’s Perspective: From Assessing Threats to Building a New Culture of Security

For the Safe Ukraine 2030 Foundation, participation in this study forms part of its sustained commitment to fostering a New Culture of Security - one grounded in trust, responsible partnerships, and the shared engagement of state and non-state actors in creating a secure and resilient environment.

We firmly believe that business security must be recognised as an integral component of Ukraine’s economic and national security, as well as a fundamental prerequisite for attracting responsible investment and ensuring the country's sustainable recovery.

The challenge is not merely to identify risks, but to translate research findings into actionable policy recommendations, effective mechanisms for cooperation, and practical solutions that strengthen the resilience of Ukrainian businesses.

This approach reflects the Foundation’s strategic vision: moving beyond fragmented responses to individual threats towards the development of a comprehensive, systemic model of responsible partnership in security governance.

We Invite the Business Community to Take Part!

The survey will remain open until 15 November 2026. Completing the questionnaire takes approximately five minutes. All responses will be treated as confidential, and the consolidated findings will be published by the end of the year.

We invite Ukrainian companies, representatives of business associations, and corporate security professionals to contribute their insights and experience to this important study.

Your experience matters. Together, we can help shape a safer, more resilient, and more investment-friendly business environment in Ukraine.
