Fund “Safe Ukraine 2030” was awarded with a grant from the International Renaissance Foundation for the implementation of the project "Analysis and evaluation of judicial practice regarding war crimes, collaborationism".
As part of the project, a methodology for the analysis of court cases will be prepared, the specified analysis will be carried out directly, considering recognized international recommendations / practices in the field. Also, relevant case law of other countries will be studied as well as expert consultations will be held with human rights defenders of the judicial corps, investigators, representatives of the parliament.
The results of the conducted analysis and consultations will be formalized into recommendations, presented, and transferred to the relevant state authorities working on investigation and trial of war crimes, collaborationism, as well as those bodies responsible for improving legislation in the field. In particular, the specified recommendations and results of the analysis will be presented to human rights defenders and other stakeholders, whose efforts are aimed at ensuring the inevitability of a proper investigation of war crimes and collaborationism in Ukraine.
