Olena Sukmanova Appointed Member of the Expert Council under the Representative of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights on Information Rights

Олену Сукманову, президентку Фонду SAFE UKRAINE 2030, обрано членом Експертної ради при Представнику Уповноваженого Верховної Ради України з прав людини з інформаційних прав.

Participation in the Expert Council marks an important step towards strengthening professional cooperation in the protection of information rights, access to information, transparency, legal safeguards, and democratic resilience in times of war.

«This is an opportunity not merely to contribute to an important cause, but to bring together the legal protection of rights and information security, which is one of the areas of work of the SAFE UKRAINE 2030 Foundation. It is not only about protection against disinformation or manipulation; it is also about the resilience of society, the preservation of fundamental rights and freedoms, and the ability of the state to maintain its inner strength», said Olena Sukmanova.

For the SAFE UKRAINE 2030 Foundation, information rights and information security are integral components of democratic security. In the context of Russia’s aggression, the protection of the information space extends far beyond countering disinformation. It concerns trust in institutions, citizens’ access to reliable information, the protection of rights and freedoms, society’s resilience to manipulation, and the capacity of the state to act responsibly, openly, and effectively.

This is why the combination of a legal approach, information resilience, and security-oriented thinking is one of the Foundation’s important areas of work. SAFE UKRAINE 2030 consistently promotes the idea of a new culture of security, in which human rights, the rule of law, trust, openness, and responsible partnership are regarded as the foundation of the resilience of both the state and society.
