The SAFE UKRAINE 2030 Foundation has been granted the status of an associated partner of the European Alliance of Cities and Regions for the Reconstruction of Ukraine.

In its communication, the Secretariat of the Alliance acknowledged the commitment and efforts of SAFE UKRAINE 2030 in supporting local communities and strengthening their resilience in the context of the unjustified war of aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

The acquisition of associated partner status marks an important step in strengthening the Foundation’s international engagement in the fields of recovery, democratic resilience, and community capacity development. This status opens the opportunity for SAFE UKRAINE 2030 to participate in the Alliance’s regular working-level meetings, contribute to the exchange of knowledge and best practices, develop professional networks, and support joint advocacy efforts aimed at reinforcing the local dimension of Ukraine’s reconstruction.

For the SAFE UKRAINE 2030 Foundation, participation in the Alliance is of particular significance, as local communities represent the key level at which recovery intersects with security, trust, good governance, and the responsible use of resources. In the context of the ongoing war and Ukraine’s future post-war transformation, effective reconstruction requires not only financial support, but also high-quality partnership models, transparent procedures, legal safeguards, and risk management instruments.

SAFE UKRAINE 2030 views cooperation with the European Alliance of Cities and Regions for the Reconstruction of Ukraine as an opportunity to strengthen the role of communities in recovery processes, promote Ukraine’s experience in resilience and crisis management, and integrate democratic security approaches into the broader European reconstruction agenda.

The Secretariat of the Alliance also expressed its openness to bilateral contacts, as well as to proposals and ideas from SAFE UKRAINE 2030 aimed at enhancing the work and added value of the Alliance, including in the context of the annual Ukraine Recovery Conference.

The SAFE UKRAINE 2030 Foundation highly values the opportunity to contribute to the work of the Alliance and stands ready to support the development of partnerships that help shape not only the physical reconstruction of Ukraine, but also a new quality of local resilience, trust, security, and democratic governance.

Background: The European Alliance of Cities and Regions for the Reconstruction of Ukraine brings together local and regional authorities, as well as partner institutions from Ukraine and the European Union, to coordinate joint efforts in support of Ukraine’s effective, transparent, and sustainable reconstruction. The Alliance serves as an important platform for the exchange of experience, the development of partnerships, the advocacy of the role of the local and regional levels in recovery processes, and the strengthening of synergies between Ukraine’s reconstruction and its European integration.
