On 20–21 May 2026, the latest meeting of the European consortium of the CEDAR project (Common European Data Spaces and Robust AI for Transparent Public Governance) took place in Paris, France, bringing together project partners both in person and remotely.

During the two-day meeting, participants reviewed the current status of all Work Packages and agreed on the key steps required for the final phase of the project’s implementation.

The first day was primarily dedicated to technical discussions. Partners reviewed the progress of the Indicators Map and external data integration, discussed access control mechanisms for indicators within the Slovenian pilot, anonymization and de-anonymization workflows across both pilot sites, the integration of pilot user interfaces with the Common European Data Spaces (CEDs), technical challenges related to the Italian pilot, and initiated planning for one of the project’s key final deliverables.

The second day focused on tender description anonymization, security checks, the development of policy recommendations, the assessment of opportunities for the exploitation and sustainability of project results beyond the project lifecycle, and the planning of upcoming trial activities and solution validation exercises.

For the SAFE UKRAINE 2030 Foundation, participation in CEDAR represents far more than involvement in an international research consortium. It is a contribution to shaping new standards of transparent governance, responsible data use, digital security, and personal data protection. Within the project, the Foundation is responsible for conducting Ethical and Legal Analysis of the solutions being developed, with a particular focus on transparency and accessibility of information related to Ukraine’s reconstruction processes, personal data protection, the classification of public information, and the compliance of technological solutions with European legal and governance standards.

Today, it is particularly valuable to work alongside people and organizations that do not merely discuss challenges in abstract terms, but actively seek practical solutions - technological, digital, ethical, and legal. This is why CEDAR is not only about data and artificial intelligence. It is about trust, coordination, responsibility, and the ability to act swiftly and effectively in a rapidly changing reality.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all consortium partners for their openness, professionalism, and commitment to working together in the development of innovative solutions that contribute to greater transparency, accountability, and democratic resilience across Europe and Ukraine.
